Education, Health and Welfare Fund Grant Recipients

 

In 2005, nine grants were given from the Anna Brown Education, Health and Welfare Fund of the Community Foundation of West Alabama. 

 

Young Girls Doing an Art Project

A Woman’s Place Foundation – To purchase materials for renovating three houses which have been donated to the program.

Baby Talk for Pickens County Women Infants and Children (WIC) Program – To implement the Baby Talk program in the WIC clinic of Pickens County. 

Good Samaritan Clinic – To purchase funding for one month’s operational expenses.

Habitat for Humanity – To purchase building equipment.

Hospice of West Alabama – To purchase furniture for patients’ rooms in the new facility in Tuscaloosa.

Temporary Emergency Services – To purchase fans for homes of elderly persons who have no air conditioning.

Tuscaloosa Children’s Center – To help fund counseling services for the program.

Tuscaloosa Juvenile Detention Center – To purchase educational software to be used by young people at the center.

United Cerebral Palsy of West Alabama – To purchase exercise equipment for the new exercise room designed to help aid in physical development.
