West Alabama Food Bank

The Community Foundation of West Alabama (CFWA) is partnering with the West Alabama Food Bank in their Brown Bag project.

The Brown Bag project delivers a food supplement to three hundred and fifty recipients each month.  Volunteers and staff gather at the food bank one day during the second week of each month to prepare the Brown Bags that are then delivered the third week of each month.  The bags contain about 18 food items and weigh at least 30 pounds.

This grant of $1100.00, was funded by the P.D. & Anna E. Brown Education, Health & Welfare Fund of CFWA. The Community Foundation of West Alabama, established in 1999, is a charitable organization which supports various cultural, health, social and educational programs in Bibb, Fayette, Greene, Hale, Lamar, Marengo, Pickens, Sumter, and Tuscaloosa counties.  A grants committee selects grant recipients.
